We went for a hike today in a park we have never been to before. The first two shots are of some of the beautiful flora that we saw on the way to the waterfall pictured below.
Darlin, John took the waterfall shot. I'm glad I didn't see how he managed to get it (think it involved climbing out on a rocky cliff). I took the other two photos he chose to post today. Beautiful day.
Saw this after seeing your photo. It was glowing in the afternoon sunlight. This tree was spotted on a farm near the entrance to the park where we hiked the trail to Hidden Falls. BTW - the creek that creates Hidden Falls is called Dead Man's Creek. Sounds ominous doesn't it?
Yes, dead man's creek does not sound very welcoming unless one is a dead man or a creek. or really thirsty.
We have the acacia all over in these mountains. They are definitely not native. This species is the Silver wattle or Acacia dealbata, native to Australia. They fall down a lot in the storms. I don't have any on my property though they are close by. (no dead men either (that I'm aware of)
