Two old soul oaks shelter our Texas ranch style home.

We left our dream home in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Lake Tahoe (California's Gold Country) to move closer to our daughter who was expecting her first child (our first grandchild). She and her husband bought a cute old home in central Austin. Our expectation was to find something similar in the same general area. That's not what happened. Instead, we're about 28 minutes away in the hill country south and a little west of Austin.

I didn't/don't love the house but the two old soul oaks is what sold us on this property. This blog will help us to document our learning process as we figure out what it takes to "bloom where we're planted."
