I have "a thing" for nautilus shells. This one's a beauty. Once, a long time ago, John gave me a nautilus shell that had been intregrated into a hanging stained glass type of thing when we lived in Goleta while I was an undergrad at UC Santa Barbara. It was gorgeous & I loved it. Sadly, years later, I'd forgotten it was stowed away in a box high upon a closet shelf. When I was reaching for the box overhead to see what was inside (I'd forgotten), it opened and the stained glass thing fell on my head and broke. Not only did my head hurt like hell, but the precious was broken. Sad.
It's sad when an object you love a lot breaks. That has happened to me, too. But there's the memory which helps. This is just a stunning photo. That John is a pretty remarkable photographer. I'd keep him around :-)
